Cognitive Hypnotherapy
Cognitive Hypnotherapy is a tailored approach drawing on ideas
from evolutionary psychology, cognitive theory and NLP and uses the
naturally occuring trance states we experience everyday to create fast
and lasting changes.
There is so much information that our subconscious is taking
in moment to moment of which we are not aware, and we are constantly
making decisions based on this information, comparing it to our past
experience and our beliefs and values. The questions is, how to access
beliefs and values held in our unconscious mind and gain conscious
control our behaviour.
Hypnotherapy is a way of relaxing deeply enough to allow
communication with the unconscious mind. The suprising thing is that
entering a hypnotic trance is something we do every day, each time we
become lost in our own thoughts. During therapy, the therapist is simply
a guide, whose job it is to ask questions of the clients unconscious
mind and to make positive suggestions for change.
NLP
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), was developed in the early
1970's by Richard Bandler and John Grinder, who became interested in
human behaviour and how individuals operate. It is a methodology based
on the understanding that all behaviours have a structure, and that it
is possible for this structure to be identified , learned and altered.
It has been defined by Grinder as "the study of the structure of human
experience - excellence and how to replicate it".
If we do something either well or badly, this is not an
accident, it is because we have programmed our brains to perform this
way.
Using a range of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques
you are able to make significant changes to any area of your life both
quickly and permanently. NLP techniques can be used on their own, but
are particularly effective when combined with hypnosis by helping the
unconscious mind to be more accepting of the solutions.
EFT
- Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a technique which originated from Dr.Roger Callahan's Thought Field TherapyTM work.
It is effective in eliminating negative emotions by balacing the body's
energy system. EFT could be described as an emotional form of
accupuncture without the needles. The technique involves stimulating
certain meridian energy points by tapping with the fingertips while the
client is focusses on the emotional issue.
- EFT works on the belief that the body is made of energy
- something long accepted in eastern cultures, but of which we in the
West are only slowly becoming more aware. Einstein's theory that all
matter, including the human body is composed of energy, adds an
interesting view of why this therapy is so successful.
- EFT works in harmony with hypnotherapy and NLP
approaches, and clients find it simple to learn to use. The technique
can seem a little strange at first, but it is rapidly becoming
acknowledged as a powerful tool to help with the treatment of many
anxiety, trauma and stress related issues. In Paul McKenna's recent
television series 'I can change your life', he featured TFT. Using it on
this occasion to help a client reduce the effects of Tourets syndrome.
EFT is currently the top choice of trauma treatment in Kosovo.
- Life is a labyrinth of choices. Of good decisions, bad
decisions and indecision. It's so easy to get lost or to run into dead
